A variety of live theatrical and musical productions are presented throughout the year by UACT (Umpqua Actors Community Theater) and the Umpqua Community College theater department. Additional traveling groups and school performances round out theatergoers' fare. Internationaliy recognized musical entertainment is provided by the Roseburg Community Concert Association and the Umpqua Symphony Association.
The Umpqua Valley Arts Center features regular showings with works of local artists for show and sale, as well as various workshops and classes.
The lakes, rivers and reservoirs of Douglas County provide ample boating and fishing settings, while Roseburg's parks system offers everything from biking and running trails to Little League baseball fields.
The Central Douglas County YMCA has a wide variety of sports and fitness equipment and activities, including two Olympic sized swimming pools. Golf, bowling, tennis and soccer enthusiasts will find also find the premium facilities in Roseburg to their liking.
Graffiti Weekend draws antique auto enthusiasts from many states to experience a weekend of car shows, competitions and "cruising" while enjoying many sources of live entertainment.
Over a dozen annual fairs, festivals and rodeos, celebrating such events as forestry, wildflowers and grape and melon harvests, are complemented by the Southern Oregon Speedway's auto racing season, April to September, on the Douglas County Fairgrounds Speedway dirt track.
